About

KVgear was established by Mike Rafferty in early 2013 after KORG launched their volca line. The founder was immediately struck by the idea that three volcas would feel more powerful if they could be grouped as one. This journey began with a wooden stand with onboard power and audio connections to bring all three volcas together. Soon after, a power supply and daisy chain cable followed for powering multiple volcas. When Roland announced their Aira and Boutique lines, additional stands were added to the KVgear lineup.

Today, KVgear offers dozens of desktop synth stands for Behringer, Moog, Roland, Elektron, KORG, Arturia, Akai, Native Instruments, Make Noise, Dreadbox, and other electronic music gear. And we have become the longest established and most experienced provider of power supplies and daisy chain cables for KORG volcas.

All of our stands and many of our accessories are manufactured in the USA.  Our tiny team of synth fanatics ships worldwide from our Chicago workshop.  And we now have distribution in the UK and EU through SME Music.

Our focus since 2019 has been on making our stands as adaptable and expandable as possible. This allows musicians to repurpose their KVgear stands as their gear changes.  We have many new developments in the works which will further this focus.
